The Osteoporosis Clinic provides care for both women and men who are at high risk for osteoporosis. Patients will be referred for an outpatient DEXA bone-density scan at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Following this screening test, Dr. Juliano will provide education on osteoporosis prevention, treatment for osteoporosis and referral for later DEXA scan follow up for bone density monitoring.
The Pelvic Health Program is a collaboration between Dr. Juliano at OhioHealth Women’s Health Primary Care Physicians and the OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital physical therapy program. Dr. Juliano sees patients who have pelvic floor dysfunction, dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse) or incontinence, and will refer to the hospital for outpatient testing, if needed. Pelvic physical therapy can be ordered, as needed, to help women increase their quality of life through decreased pain. Dr. Juliano also works with women who have had vaginal deliveries and are having issues with sexual pain or pelvic pain.
Our program welcomes women who suffer from painful sexual intercourse, decreased libido, peri- and post-menopausal changes. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) involving a national sample of 1,749 women estimated that sexual dysfunctions occur in 43% of women in the United States. This program is here for women who have suffered for years in silence and can now reach out for help.
Vulvar pain is a very common disorder before and after menopause. Dr. Juliano, our program director, reaches out to women who may have increased pain, itching, dryness and are not sure who to reach out to.
